Website Rebuilds

Modern Websites You Actually Own

If your business runs on Squarespace, Wix, or Webflow, you're renting your website. Every month, forever. The day you decide to leave, you start over.

I rebuild small business sites on a modern stack you own outright. Same content, same domain, better performance, full control of the codebase.

Free, no commitment. We talk through what makes sense for your situation.

Why Owning Your Website Matters

Rented platforms work fine until they don't. Here's what changes when the site is yours.

Recurring fees stop.

Most rented platforms run between $15 and $50 a month. Over five to ten years, that's the cost of a custom site twice over, with nothing to show for it at the end.

Nothing locks you in.

You get the source code. You can host it anywhere, hand it to any developer, or leave it running for years untouched. Your business isn't tied to a platform's pricing or future.

Faster sites, better SEO.

Modern sites load measurably faster than Squarespace or Wix. Search engines reward speed. So do people deciding whether to wait for your page to load.

Room to grow.

Adding AI features, custom forms, or automations to a closed platform is hit or miss. On a modern stack, those things plug in naturally. The site grows with the business.

What “Owning Your Site” Actually Means

On a rented platform, you have a login. That's it. The code, the templates, the hosting, all of it lives with the platform. If they shut down, raise prices, or change direction, you don't have many options.

When I rebuild your site, you get the source code. You get the hosting account, or you can move it anywhere you want. The domain stays yours. Your content is portable. You can update copy, swap images, or post to a blog without touching code. And if you ever want to bring in a different developer, your codebase is built on tools they already know.

The point isn't that you'll need to do all of that. The point is that you can.

How a Rebuild Works

Three steps. Most rebuilds take a few weeks, not a few months.

1

We Talk

I look at your current site, what's working, what isn't, and what you want to change. We talk through your content, design preferences, and any features you need.

2

I Rebuild It

I rebuild your site on a modern stack: Next.js, Tailwind, Vercel. Same content, refreshed design if you want, fully responsive, fast. You see progress along the way.

3

We Launch and You Own It

The codebase is yours. Hosting is straightforward and runs on a free or low-cost tier for most small business sites. The domain stays where it is. Site goes live.

Why I Build Sites the Same Way I Build Automations

Most of my work is AI automation: client intake, follow-ups, lead response, reporting. The reason I also rebuild sites is that the two go together. A site built on a modern stack is the natural place to plug in AI agents, custom forms, automated workflows, and integrations with the tools the business already uses.

On a closed platform, this kind of work is awkward or impossible. On a stack you own, it's straightforward. If you're thinking about adding any AI or automation to your business, the website is usually the first thing to fix.

Common Questions

Isn't a custom site expensive?

Up front, more than a Squarespace template. Over five years, almost always less, and you're left with something you own. We can talk through what makes sense for your situation on a call.

Can I update content myself?

Yes. I set up your site so you can change copy, swap images, or post to a blog without touching code. Easier than Squarespace in most cases.

What happens if I stop working with you?

The codebase is yours. Your domain stays yours. You can hand it to any developer, leave it as-is for years, or hire someone for occasional updates.

Can my site have AI features or automations on it?

Yes. That's actually one of the reasons I work this way. AI agents, lead capture flows, and automations plug in naturally to a modern site. They don't on a closed platform.

Why don't you just use Webflow then?

Webflow is better than Squarespace, but it's still rented. The site lives on their servers, the editor lives in their dashboard, and the bill never stops. The point of this service is owning what you build.

What if I'm starting from scratch, not rebuilding?

Same approach. New sites get the same modern stack and the same ownership. The build process is similar.
